positively so

Quinn wrote Dorian a letter. Perhaps it was an apology letter of some kind. A part of her wanted to tell him she'd changed to.  In fact, she wasn't even going to the bible classes she'd planned on, for so long.

At first, her parents were upset. It seemed they'd spent a lot of money on the idea that she would go into the ministry. Now it felt more like a scam to her. Although, she didn't bring it up. Yet, she felt as if she'd been brained washed. Maybe.

It was just..Dorian kind of woke her up. She guessed he might not ever know that. But she'd been far too sheltered, she thought now. And when the chance came to work for the Children's library department, she took it. Of course, it might have been baby steps to some, but she'd never had a real job before. This one was working with the public. And there was Milo.

At first she was so sure she annoyed him. She hoped no,t because he was such a good listener. She'd told him everything about Dorian. How upset she'd been. Was it her? Had she been so oblivious not to see him for who he really was? Just what was she supposed to do?

And all the while, he didn't say much of anything.

Now she felt she knew nothing about Milo. And she wished she did. Quinn was afraid she hadn't changed at all. She was still alone. Maybe it was meant to be.

She had herself a good cry with the ducks at the park one late afternoon. She'd brought dry bread crumbs, but at the moment she felt as if the whole world was soggy.

Maybe it was a good thing she'd never gone on to be a minister. She didn't care enough, she was sure of it.

The park was empty, but soon there was a little rush. Couples coming out with their little ones to feed the ducks at the pond. And then she saw Milo in his electric wheel chair. There was someone sitting in his lap with a bag bread. A little boy who looked a lot like Milo.

"Milo?" He zoomed down the trail toward the pond. "Milo?" She called after him. Finally, he stopped. She caught up.

"I didn't know you'd be here." He looked startled. "But, I'm really glad you are."

"Really?" She sniffed back her tears, wondering why.

"Liam, has been wanting to do this forever. He promises me, that he is going to stay with me. Not run away."

"Not run away." Liam shook his head as if he knew the rules.

"Yes, no running. No getting too close to the pond." Milo kept going over the rules.

"No.No.No." Liam could hardly keep still.

"Lets hope he can do this." Milo's grin was a little grim. "He does like to run."

"Its good to meet you, Liam." Quinn smiled and offered him her hand. Immediately, he wanted to be held. She hadn't expected him to take to her so quickly. But Quinn couldn't help to smile more. She loved his little chubby arms around her. He was investigating her necklace.

"He's kind of a Casanova at school. He likes to kiss the girls. A lot." Milo admitted.

"Good to know." She let Liam down and he took her hand. Suddenly, she felt as if she were in a better place in her life than she expected. Perhaps, she didn't have everything figured out, but it felt good to know a part of Milo's life that he never talked about.
