dreaming a diseaster
Fish still wasn't so sure why Derrick called him that night. He sounded so out of it. There was a certain importance to Derrick, about Zac's song writing. Those break-up songs.
Fish knew exactly who those songs were about, but he didn't want to dare go there with Derrick. After all, wasn't Sunny his girlfriend now?
"You must really be psyched, with the Valentines Day dance coming up." Fish tried to make light of it. He'd be there.
"I don't want to think about it. You, probably don't even have a date to worry about." Derrick made it sound so, like a good thing.
"Precisely." But deep down, Fish really wanted to have a date at the dance. He just wouldn't ask anyone, because he really didn't want the rejection. But he'd help with the punch and do what he could with the decorations because wasn't that what he was there for?
"I just dunno. I really should stay home. I might be coming down with something." Derrick told him.
Derrick wasn't at school the next day.
But Fish thought he saw him. The guy looked a lot like him. And he was with Sunny.
The new transfer student was Holden, and Sunny showed him around, giving him the grand tour. Fish was fascinated with Derrick's doppelganger. He had a feeling Sunny was too.
