As Soon As it Thaws

Tony wasn't sure if he knew what to do with Angie. It was alarming, her fainting spell.

"I'm just afraid, she's not really making any friends." He said after the wonderful winter dinner of stew  topped with mashed potatoes.

"She told me it was a boy who made her dizzy at the grocery store." Lena finally told him while they were cleaning up and Angie was off in her room watching ABC Family on Netflix.

"What did he do to her?" He was ready to knock some sense into someone. Someone who was trying to hurt his little sister.

"He didn't do anything." Lean shrugged. "When she's around him, she doesn't want to eat, and says she's usually lost for words. I guess that's real swooning."

"OK," Tony said not trying to add that he thought the whole thing was weird. "So what does she know about him?"

"He bags groceries at that mega grocery store." Lena rinsed another dish and Tony dried what was in the rack.

"I dunno. Am I suppose to invite him over?" Tony winced, wondering if Angie would squeal and go crazy, as if a real teen idol was in the house.

"Just let her figure it out. She knows it might not be the best thing in the world, you know, fainting over a guy. I think she's a lot wiser than we know." Lena seemed to have a faith in her that Tony wasn't so sure he understood.

"Must be a girl thing." He shrugged as he put another plate away.

"She also said that people in your family don't marry." Lena looked at him.

"She's just talking about Mom." Tony shrugged again.

"No, she's afraid we won't get married." Lena looked him in the eye.

"OK, we should get married. I know that. But.." He looked out the kitchen window and saw the snow coming down. He honestly didn't want to think about how bad this winter could really get. It was warm inside. He put his arm around her. "Can we at least wait until spring?"

They definitely couldn't put it off forever. He didn't want to do that.

"Lets go make a plan, right now." He was ready to look at those collages Lena had put together for different kinds of weddings.
