"OH MY GOD..." Even Josie shocked herself. It might have been an epiphany of some kind. If she could call it that.
"What?" Daisy winced hard as she looked over at Josie as they were walking in to the school.
"I'm dating Jon Snow." She grinned as if it were the best surprise in the world.
"What are you talking about?" Daisy drew a blank. She finished texting someone about then.
"You know, Game of Thrones, how Jon was.." Oh, she couldn't explain it, but Dean was a lot like the George R.R. Martin character. He was faithful. He was loyal. He was her Jon Snow. "Who are you texting?" Josie wanted to know in the next breath.
"Its nothing." Daisy was straight lipped about it as if it might be a secret.
"What's going on with you and Max?" Josie looked her friend over. They were suppose to be best friends and Daisy never told her anything.
"We're fine." Daisy told her.
"Fine?" Josie didn't quite believe her. She never saw Max around. "I thought it would be different for you two. You know, he'd be buying you protein shakes at every turn and carrying your stuff around. You know, you'd be like two peas in a pod."
"You're thinking of Hansen." She sighed. She told Josie how Hansen moved in with Sara. "He's probably making her a smoothie right now."
"Do you think he hates you?" Josie asked as they got to their lockers.
"No, of course not." Daisy scowled as she went to put her books away and put a new stack in her big bulky bag. "Look, we're still friends. Just like Max and I are..still friends."
Josie pulled off her black wool coat and stuffed it in her locker. She was wearing Dean's old gray sweater. It smelled of him, sweet like a chocolate chip cookie. Soon enough, she found Dean and for the first time she really wished Daisy had what she had, but no way was she going to share Dean.
