Its a party

Happy Alone....

Hutch was glad to have Sunday dinners with Hansen and Sara's parents. It was a nice way to start the week, he guessed. Although, it felt more like the end of the week for him.

Sometimes, he even baked a cake. Of course, he wasn't very good with baking and was certain he shouldn't try to show his little brother, up in any way. After all, Hansen was going to cooking school. Still, he thought he should do something. And it was still plenty cold. It was a way to warm his place up. It wasn't like he was really making friends at work.

Most of them had families.

Once he was invited over for poker, but since prison, he hadn't exactly found an interest in it, so he ended up babysitting the kids. Of course, the co-workers joked with him from time to time about coming to their cookouts so he could babysit. He knew they meant well, but it was true, he hadn't exactly found his niche.

He missed Daisy. Not that he'd spoken of it to Hansen. Besides, he got that Hansen didn't really want to hear what was going on with him. Hansen didn't want him being loud. After all, it was just dinner. So it surprised him when Hansen invited him to his friend's party.

"Well, its Crosby and Julie's party." Hansen shrugged as if it would be a pretty much laid back setting. "He doesn't know that many people. And he's sort of hoping Julie's sisters meet some guys."

Hutch didn't ask what that meant. He didn't think he was being set  up. Naturally, he said it would be nice to meet some of Hansen's friends.

However, he was the first to arrive.

"I might not be at the right place." He said right away with a smile. After all, it was him, three girls and an Asian guy.

Crosby kept him from leaving.

"You, must be Hansen's brother." Crosby was all grins, talking about Hansen being his best friend.

Next thing he knew, some blond girl was bringing him a rum and coke. He smelled it. He only shook his head, no. He hadn't came to get drunk.

"Come, on, why aren't you, any fun?" She asked.

Hutch only bit a grin. He was sure it was going to be a long night, but there was some soft music in the background. Maybe it wouldn't be all bad. Hutch chose to sit on the couch and pretend there would be more people coming. He hoped there would be more people coming.
