Don't cramp my style

Don't Cramp My Style

"What!" Shan usually wasn't expressive when it came to his step-mother. The less he said the better, but here she was finding him. She was waiting for him when he came back to his place, after work. Luckily, Fish wasn't with him, or it would have really murdered his day.

Leeza and Bree were with Ricki in the kitchen who was already getting supper started, and Bree was helping.

Shan winced so hard when he heard Leeza say she was moving to New York City.

"Oh, I'm not going." Bree said as if she were in her own little world. "I'm staying with you."

Those words made Shan light headed.

"You've got to be kidding." He smirked as if this was an April Fools joke, just a little too late.

"No, no, I'm serious." Leeza glared at him as if this was not a joke.

"She's very serious." Bree shrugged.

Leeza told him about her job offer and how she needed to be on her own to get situated there. She did not want Bree seeing their Dad.

"I think he's off the wagon again." Leeza crossed her arms as if the less said about their Dad, the better. After all, she'd been through a lot with him when they were together. A lot more than she'd let on when Shan was there, but now she talked all about his weaknesses as if Shan was due a good therapy session.

"So, she's going to stay here." Leeza said, as if it were settled with Ricki, who just smiled. "I'll pay for room and board and for Ricki's time."

Shan winced, as if, shouldn't he get paid too? But he wouldn't dare bring it up. He knew being with his half-sister was long overdue, but how was this going to work with his downtime with Fish?

  2. I wonder how Shan will work everything out... it does sound like it will be a bit crowded with little room for them all :)
