Today is the Day

Today is the Day prt.1

Derrick was pretty sure they had the music under control for the wedding, and then Mitch showed up with Sky.

"What's he doing here?" Derrick didn't mean to sound perturbed, but he actually was. The wedding was within minutes of starting, and this guy shows up in a T-shirt and jeans. He didn't even have a guitar.

"I think we need him." Mitch shrugged.

"Well, we didn't need him last night, when we rehearsed." Derrick glared at Mitch as if he were trying to under-mind him. Sure Zac wasn't going to help, but Fish was here to play the drums and Syreeta was going to help sing backup.

"But we didn't know Zac was going off to Chicago this weekend, either." Mitch pointed out the lead singer was off to Chicago with his girlfriend to see his dad, some sort of impromptu Family Reunion. "We need him."

Derrick heaved a sigh. He didn't want to be pissed, but he didn't understand what Mitch saw in his roommate.

"I don't even have to be here." Sky backed away as if he understood he was not welcomed, but Mitch told him to stay. He was going over the playlist with Sky. Derrick guessed no one was listening to him.

Today is the day prt. 2

It was the perfect sunny day for a wedding. Not a cloud in the sky. Not a chance for rain, as Josie looked over head. And her Mom was waiting patiently for the wedding to begin. She really did look beautiful in her white wedding dress.

Josie's was light pink and strapless. Of course, she wasn't wearing high heels. Josie opted for her black army boots. She couldn't help but to be just a bit rebel.

"Any last words?" Her mother asked before they walked down the red carpet.

"Not really. I think you know, everything you need to be happy with Duncan." Josie smiled. She was happy for her Mom. Of course, she would be watching Carrie with some help from Frannie after the wedding. Derrick said he'd help too, but she wasn't counting on it. Besides, Camille and Duncan had a two week Honeymoon waiting for them. They were going on the Legends of Rock cruise. Duncan had been talking about it for weeks now.

"Thanks, Honey." Her Mom kissed her on the cheek. "So things are OK with you and Dean?"

Josie nodded, but she wasn't sure it was true. She guessed she had let him go for good this time. She looked over at the stage and saw Sky with Mitch and Derrick. Josie couldn't help but stare. She hadn't expected Sky at the wedding.
