Henry couldn't quite call it a pickle, he was in.
Oh, if he only knew what was happening to him... They were thinking about putting him on new drugs for his seizures. The last thing he needed to hear.
He just couldn't sleep at night.
Actually, he would be so far gone, that he thought for a time or two, he crapped the bed. He'd wake Josie up, and everything, just to see..nothing had happened. Just staring at the crumpled sheets on a bare bed.
It made him cringe to wake her. Then to see her worried look. He didn't want her to go through this, with him.
If it wasn't for the deep sleep worries, it was the headaches. The terrible headaches.
Of course, the doctor told him, he should keep going to the support group for..what else..to vent, mostly.
He met Lexie there. Actually Les, who was transitioning (from male to female). His headaches were worse than Henry's. and he was on hormones. Lex went through some terrible changes, but he seemed to be holding up, hot pink, dazzling lippy and all.
Henry winced hard when he listened to Lex talk about his/her pain. He'd had a bad headache from weeks on end.
"But..but how do you do it?" No way was Henry thinking about transitioning. Funny, how the transitioning made him think of Leo. Would he ever do something so major?
Henry thought he saw Leo at Christmas, but wasn't quite sure. Maybe it was just some guy who looked like him, who was out with a guy, Christmas shopping.
"It'll be worth it." Lex told him. "I've wanted this, all my life. I can't let a little epilepsy, get me down."
Henry just stared at him. Transitioning was that important to Lex. Henry sighed. Henry's other option was surgery, of course.
