Better than ever

What's a guy to do

Garvin wouldn't say he was actually having a hard time lately..but...

OK, he was overworked and underpaid. But that wasn't it.

Yes, he was in love and couldn't stand to be away from Tessa.

It all went back to this one little thing.

"Who's gonna marry us?" He winced really hard at Oliver. He told him all about his little tiff with Ruben, who wouldn't do it. "He's my brother for God's sake, but he's so all.. Well, I'm a professor you know, why should I do it?" Garvin acted the whole scenario out to Oliver who was busy taking out pastries from the ovens.

Oliver just nodded.

"You're pretty busy yourself, lately." Garvin knew.

Oliver shrugged. Reminded him about all the weddings coming up that he'd officiate. Some were at Garvin's little shop, but many were at the park, down by the river. "I bet you'd even marry somebody in their bathtub." Oliver mentioned with a sly smirk.

"I dunno, what to do." Garvin hugged himself. "Its like no one, wants us together." Garvin made a face of disgust. He even told Oliver that Tessa's brother wasn't fond of their engagement.

"Stop it!" Oliver slammed the oven shut. Garvin jumped back from the counter, where he'd almost been leaning.

"What do you want me to do?"

Garvin just chuckled. Finally, someone was coming to the rescue.

nothing's gonna stop us now

Nothing was going to break Tessa now. No, she was happy. And work was great at the library. She liked her small circle of friends. Even if were just Kayla and Audrey, who were new mothers.

It was Garvin who made it all work.

She tried her best not to count on him for everything, yet she was happy to be on this journey with him. It was true, she did have a lot to smile about. Not even ex-boyfriend Jude was going to ruin it for her.

"Oh, I'd almost forgot you were even around." She smiled ever so endearing. He actually, stepped out on the floor of the library where she manned the reference desk. He'd cancelled a lot of Young Adult activities, recently. He said it was due to his allergies. He'd had a bout with Asthma.  Naturally, she didn't take pity on him. "What do you want?" She gave him a look that she was in charge. She was very close with the director. Practically, his right hand.

He swelled up a frown as if she would have to guess. He stared her down as if he knew exactly how to break her.

She went to her keyboard and ignored him.

"What?" She then scowled. "My brother's not good enough for you?"

He sighed as if she knew nothing.

"Well, better put BAD BLOOD on repeat." She really didn't know if her brother was still with Jude. Actually, she didn't even care to find out.

Jude remained silent and walked away.
