just a good neighbor

just a good neighbor

Xander knew he didn't belong here, in the birthing suite, but he'd brought some things for Henry. He'd packed some extras of deodorant, cologne. If only, he'd had more time, he might have made the packed bag a bit more special. Xander doubt it mattered.

Henry took the stuff and went to change.

"Is there anything else you might need?" He asked Josie's mother. "I could bring food?" Still, he remembered all the food Ducky's mom and Su-Ra made. He should be there.

He hated to let Ducky down, but this was a special circumstance. A lot like, with Dakota.

A part of him knew, he wasn't of any importance. In fact, forgettable. Bitter tears stung his eyes.

"Are you all right?" Josie wanted to know.

He tried to laugh.

"Look at you." He sighed, doing his best to make it sound..it was happiness. A baby on the way. Her baby girl was only minutes away. Actually, that wasn't true. It might be all day and the next. She told him this.

"You..you and Henry can do this." He squeezed her hand, wondering if he was full of envy.

He didn't know. But he soon stepped out in the hallway.  He sniffed more tears. He could hardly breathe.

Why did he do this to himself? Having to think of his father's dull words about him.

"I just..wanted to forget I ever saw you." His father's words were numbing.

Xander's phone rang. It was Simon.

"When are you coming back to the picnic?" Simon wanted to know. He wanted Xander to meet his girlfriend.

"Of course I'll be there, I'm on my way." He assured him. At least, he could be a brother to Simon.
