its the little things

it's the little things

Omaha guessed things were good with Sheena.

Still, a week later or so, he knew he'd said too much. Why did he mention the c o c k fight?

Well, he couldn't bring it up now. He was a middle schooler back then. He didn't even go to the fight on his uncle's farm. He'd smoked ribs, instead. It was the past, summers ago.

Now.

Taylor and Sara were home. Together. Just the way Taylor had been talking about for ages.

Things were different now. Omha always felt he was interrupting something, when he was at home. Omaha, did his best to stay in the basement. He guessed they needed a pre-honeymoon, or something.

"I don't think that's a thing?" Sheena told them while they were brown bagging it at lunch.

"What?"

"A pre-honeymoon." She looked at him as if she would know these things. After all, she always had her head in a People magazine on her Android.

He shrugged.

"I'm..I'm just in the way." He bit into an apple.

Sheena smiled as she watched him eat.

"You know, what I like about you..is that..you're such a natural." She sipped her soda through a straw.

"I know." He agreed. "But..but what does that got to do with Taylor and Sara?"

"Just be yourself. Let her figure it out." Sheena told him.

He squinted back at her. She was only confusing him.

"Look, you're like..this native. I mean," she sighed and looked away, as if she couldn't look him, in the eye to tell him this. "I knew when I saw you, that's the guy for me." She sighed. "I mean, after all, I'm a test tube baby. I can't tell you, how I've spent most of my life wondering if I'm somebody's long lost sister." She looked at him then. "You... no way we could we be related."

Omaha looked at her stunned. Where was this conversation going?
