a little known fact

a little known fact

Ducky wished they could be alone again, but he didn't see that ever happening.

He watched Joey walk around the livingroom. Joey spent some time out in the back yard with Dakota, who wanted to show Joey the swing set. Joey did swing her for a bit. Only, it was getting dark and cold.

Xander had some homemade chicken noodle soup waiting for them.

Joey commented how nice the house looked. Ducky waited for Joey to really say something. The quietness wore on.

Joey helped with Dakota after the soup. He read her a bedtime story.

Perhaps, Joey didn't really want to be around him. Which he was OK with Ducky, but they would be seeing each other.  After all, they slept on the same floor. As soon as Dakota went to bed, Joey went to his room and shut the door.

"Can he do that? Should he do that?" Xander was a little alarmed.

"Why not?" Ducky hugged himself, hoping Xander didn't worry all night. "Its his room."

Naturally, Xander rushed in after twenty minutes of silence. He couldn't take it anymore. Ducky followed.

Joey was at his desk writing in a journal.

"Oh." Xander backed into Ducky, stepping on his big toe. "Sorry."

"Its OK, if..if I write in my journal? Isn't it? I've been doing it for the last month or so." Joey told them.

"Sure..sure..I just..I just didn't know..if..if you needed..anything." Xander paused.

"I'm good." Joey nodded. "What time do I need to get up in the morning?" He then asked.

"Oh, you don't have to-"

"Yeah, I do." Joey sighed. "I want to walk Dakota to school."

Xander looked at Ducky who scratched the back of his head. Ducky knew that was Xander's favorite part of the morning, getting Dakota off to school.

  1. I hope that Joey's presence doesn't cause problems in Dakota/Xander's relationship. :/
