this time for real

this time for real

Callum could hardly find the energy to listen to Stu go on and on about everything at the recording studio. What was he wanting now?

"We got a full booking up until Christmas." Stu showed him the schedule. "Its just, how are gonna get anyone to really listen?"

Callum looked at him blankly. Sure, most of the artists would be on the road. Many took to the college towns.

"Well, there's always YOUTUBE." Callum shrugged.

"Yeah, and we know what happens there." Stu's big eyes were so intense, that Callum could barely swallow his fear. "Its for free."

Callum sighed. Yes, Stu had a very good point, but there wasn't much he could do about it. There was no end in sight. Maybe, that's why he'd settled here. He had his grandmother's house. He nodded in thought. He wasn't going to travel as much, anymore.

It was true, he'd wasted a lot of money. His sister lost herself in L.A., now she was living with a celebrity, who finally found work playing a fireman on a hit TV show. Callum could only ask for so much help from her.

Callum didn't want his life to be turned into a reality show. Now did he? He winced, wondering what to do next, and then the door opened to the recording booth. AND THERE HE WAS.

Callum almost laugh. Well, only on the inside. Generally, he didn't let himself get too happy about anything these days.

"Here's the guy I was telling you about." Stu brought Callum back to reality. "Ellis, can play just about anything."

Ellis nodded. Of course, he didn't have any credentials. "Self taught for the most part." He'd picked it up with lots a practice and an ear for music. "I can read music."

Callum watched his mouth move. Possibly, he didn't hear a word Ellis said. Still, he liked what he saw.

Callum felt his heart fill with laughter. Could he possibly fall in love at first sight? He didn't think that was possible until now.

"Well..play something." Callum waited to be wowed. He hoped Stu knew what he was talking about, when it came to Ellis.
