nothing left to resolve

nothing left to resolve

Callum wished he could kick something, but what good would that do?

Kia blew in like the wind and before Cal knew it, he was gone.

But first..it was like a one night stand, all over again.

It didn't help that his sister called.

"Are you with him, or not?" His sister wanted to know. June reminded him, how he had talked nonstop about El, last time.

"No. Of course not." Callum squinted hard as he paced his minimalist flat which took up the top floor of the brownstone in the old market. "It was just.." He didn't know how to explain it. He really wanted things to work out with Ellis. Of course, Ellis did work for him. Maybe, that's where it went all wrong.

Then again, Ellis hadn't acted they were really dating, just going out, nothing special. But there were some good conversations. Especially about music and what influenced them when it came to songs and lyrics. He really wanted Ellis to compose something for him. Possibly, they could work together as a song writing team. Still, that was way out there. It wouldn't happen, right now.

"I don't think you'll ever grow up." June put him down, as usual. She certainly didn't make him feel any better about the apparent situation. "You need to set some rules, for yourself."

Callum listened carefully, or so he told himself. He was on his way to the studio. As soon as he got off his Android, he direct dialed Ellis.

"Are you doing anything right now?" Callum wanted to know. Of course, Ellis was busy with his other job. "When can I see you?"

"Um, I have some things to do at my sister's." El told him.

"You're coming to the CD party, aren't you?" It would be a late night event.

"Yeah, I'll be there." El promised.

"We can talk then." Callum said.

"I dunno." El sounded so indifferent. "I'm..I'm bringing a date."

That one little sentence stung Callum deep. The phone went dead. Callum winced hard, wondering who the date was.

  1. That's sad how that went down... Callum should go to the party and enjoy himself. ...

  2. I feel horrible for Callum right now. I hope he still finds the strength to go solo and enjoy himself!
