if not today

Don't you see..

"I think I could do this." Lord knows, Omaha had been going over a babysitting routine for so many sleepless nights now.

"But why?" Minnie looked at him as if he was a fool, wanting to do this all by his lonesome.

"Well..you do it every day." He stared her down with as much confidence as she was staring back at him.

"You'll need..at least, Sheena..to help.. with both of the kids." She was in a pout.

"I can do it."Omaha looked at her wide eyed.

"But..but..there is no need for you to want to do this." She shook her head, no.

"What are you telling me? You, can't go to the grocery store, by yourself?" He startled her, evidently, as she frowned back at him and hugged herself hard.

Of course, the baby and toddler Naddy were both asleep at the moment.

"You and Josh..should go out." Omaha told her. "Do you, even know what a date is?"

"Do you?" She shot back.

Omaha sighed, thinking Minnie always did her best to make things dreadful.

"You..you and Josh are doing OK, aren't you?" Omaha wanted to know.

She nodded.

"Its just..we..we have a schedule and we stick to it." She informed him. Of course, going on a date was not part of the schedule.

"You need to fix this, before its too late." Omaha informed her.

Minnie swelled a frown as if he better mind his own business.
