a friend, indeed

Holly, didn't know why Natalie was at the hospital with her and Dustin. Of course, it wasn't in the wee hours anymore. She felt a little groggy now, remembering Natalie drove them since she nor Dustin hadn't a driver's license. She yawned, realizing they had her hooked up to monitor not only to her heartbeat but the baby's too.

She looked up to see Yuki with a chart. She was surprised to think he worked here. Wasn't he still at the University? She winced. He was the last person she wanted to help her out, at a time like this. He was far too calm.

"What are you doing here?" She knew it was a silly question. He was in his scrubs.

Yuki smiled as if he didn't really remember her, but maybe he did.

"You're fine." He told her. "And the baby is fine." He gave her the all clear to go. "Of course, if you think it might be best to rest here since there are still a lot of power outages." Naturally, he was his informative self. "You could have a late lunch and then go."

She nodded, thinking he was an OK doctor, perhaps.

He turned back and mentioned Corina and the twins. "We have a boy and a girl."

"Oh." Yes, she'd lost contact with her old suitemate. Holly sighed, thinking she wasn't a very good friend, after all.

Soon, Natalie came in. Dustin was still doing paperwork.

"Did you see Yuki?" Holly asked.

"Yes, he told me about Corina and the twins." Natalie got to see pictures on his phone.

"We should do something for her, right?" Holly hated to admit that she still wanted to be Corina's friend.

"I was thinking the same thing." Natalie smiled.

"I guess it's too late for a baby shower, huh?" Holly knew Natalie was better at these sort of get-togethers than she was.

"We could bring her food. You know, I'm sure she'd like to see you." Natalie told her.

"Why me?" Holly winced.

"Cause, you're the funny one." Natalie chuckled.

"I don't have a funny bone in my body." Holly insisted.

"Right," Natalie smirked.

Holly couldn't help but smile. Usually, she was funny when she really didn't mean to be.
