a fraction of the cost
Winter was coming. It didn't help much that Drew got sick before he could get his flu shot.
Thankfully, it was Ellie to the rescue and he was getting used to staying with Ellie and her girls. He had never had a family like this. As long as he could remember it had always been just he and his mother. He had never been a dad before.
True, he could have taken off on his motorcycle on those beautiful fall weekends. Now, he had his bike up for sale. He didn't think he was changing even if his mother told him so, and she liked it.
"You know, where you want to be," She'd said on one of their weekend conversations on the phone.
Still, he wasn't sure how to get there.
"But, you're already there." Her voice made him smile. Perhaps, she was right. He did spend all his time with Ellie and the girls. "You'll figure out how to put the house up for rent and all your stuff in storage."
Of course, the thought put a tickle in his throat, as if he might be coming down with something, again. And he guessed that was OK because he didn't want to be alone, anymore.
