Lizzy couldn't believe her luck. She'd been reluctant to relocate to the heartland, but things had been so harsh this last year in Chicago. Even high school had been scary. Yes, she hated to complain nor even to admit, but it felt like the war zone. And maybe she was even suffering from something like those who lived in violent times. Although, she never spoke of her fears, not even to her cousin Natalie.
And then Liam showed up. It was breathtaking. And when he spoke to her, it was as if she really did have to think of him as a human. Oh, she was sure she could have fangirled over him every day. And maybe she still did, but he wanted to text her, meet up with her for breakfast and even lunch which lead to going to cheap movies on campus, hot chocolate, more texting and then gaming online.
She'd never expected so many thrills at the start of the University. After all, she lived in a high rise dorm with her roommate Jade who was from North Dakota. Of course, it was nice to have family around like Natalie who treated her at least a Sunday night dinner.
Of course, nothing compared to Liam, who was really down to earth. He liked to listen to her, but she liked to listen to him too. She was happy to know where he was from and what he liked to eat. Yes, this was the beginning of something. And he just made it better when he wanted to go to the hospital with her to see if her cousin Natalie was doing OK.
