caught in a trap

It was true, Maisy was seeing Remi in a new light. Sometimes, they would drop in while they were taking their dog for a walk.

At first, this upset Maisy very much to have a dog in the apartment, but he was very obedient and never asked for anything. He panted occasionally but never left a mess. The dog seemed to know Remi and Wolf very well. They always brought fruit, too. She didn't understand it, but she was getting used to it.

"So you are going to be in the Viking Renaissance, right?" Remi said it sounded fun. "You won't get to hot in your outfit, will you?"

Maisy looked at Remi as if she must have been listening to her after all.

"You know, they could pay you this summer to do this," she said she'd seen a flyer about it. "You're a history major. This is your cup of tea. I don't know why you're still at the deli."

Maisy nursed her lip as if no one had ever put her on the spot like this. After all, the guys had gone off to look at some tools that Harry wanted to give Wolf. They were talking about engines and how to put a pin back in a truck door that was evidently a pain in the but for Wolf.

"But, it's close." She nodded. Honestly, she hated change the most. "You..you just don't know how much it took ... me.. to come out here on my own." She had to admit she didn't like so many people to be around. Something tragic might happen.

"Well, it could always lead to something else, I'm sure my cousin would support you, no matter what you do.  You might actually like it. I know you would know things that people could learn from. You're artistic and knowing how to sew a dress like that by hand. You really should be working in a museum, you know, or a history department."

Maisy shook her head. Why was Remi telling her something like this? She knew Remi could see the real deal and even knew her dreams, but making them a reality just seemed silly, sometimes.

  4. That would be neat if Remi did that but it doesn't sound like she's super comfortable with the idea...

  7. Wow, Remi's really getting it together, so much so that she wants to help someone else. Not that Maisy is all that interested in Remi's grand plans for her costumer future. Still, it's a start. And even people who don't want to open up are usually grateful when someone goes out of their way to show that they care. We'll see if that's the case with Maisy! πŸ‘—πŸŒΈπŸ„πŸŽ€πŸ’–πŸ‘—πŸŒΈπŸ„πŸŽ€πŸ’–πŸ‘—πŸŒΈπŸ„πŸŽ€πŸ’–
