Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas prt. 1

Betty was delighted to have more company. She found Ollie's new friend delightful. Candy brought her dinner from home to share with Betty's family. Betty hoped it would be a great new year for Ollie. She also wished Ed found a job he liked and of course, all her children would stay together happily with their loved one.

There was a moment she almost shared the truth with her girls. How she'd talked of her own parents, wasn't really so. Christmas was not her favorite time of year. There had been a lot of bad and sad memories for her. But she sipped her wine instead and watched the little ones unwrap their gifts from under the tree and was happy she'd made it this far and hoped the new year brought lots of love for everyone. After all, she really was a romantic at heart.

A small disaster happened at Taylor's. Minnie came down with the flu and was dehydrated. Thus she ended up in the hospital. Luckily, Omaha and Sheena came to the rescue and spent the night and a few days after, keeping up with Minnie and Josh's little ones. Of course, everything went better with a smoked turkey which Omaha saw to in the back yard, when he wasn't having to change diapers for Sheena. Naturally, he put Christmas dinner together himself.  As it was, he was Taylor's best friend, after all.

Merry Christmas prt. 3

Joey got the surprise of his life. He never knew he actually had a father. It was something his mother never spoke of and would never speak of, even now.

His father's name was Kenny and he was a lot shorter and smaller than Joey expected. In fact, he was kind of funny looking. Yet, his brother Cole looked more like Joey. Perhaps, that was the best present of all, to have a brother, a real uncle for Dakota.

Naturally, he let her do all the talking and before long, she had them both wrapped around her little finger.

Of course, by Christmas dinner he was making a toast. He told everyone to be ready. He was marrying Liv on Valentines day.
