much ado about something

much ado about something

"How did this happen?" Dora's question still made Louis wince, even if it had been well over a week ago when she asked this at the holiday gathering about him and Ellis.

She made it sound as if they were both down with the flu or something. How dare he decide to have a relationship with someone.

Louis tried not to think about it. He got out another cat toy to play with the kitten that Ellis got him.

He remembered how Ellis remained silent during the whole holiday ordeal that was at Graham's house(his sister Dora's new man).

Yes, it was nonstop about their approaching wedding. Louis still didn't know if it would actually take place.

"And you'll walk be down the isle." She was all smiles. Although, he could tell everyone wanted her to shut up, about it. There was Graham's sister Melissa who married Geo (Ellis' kind of roommate and best friend). They'd married quietly and took the money for the wedding to make a reasonable down payment on a starter home.

Graham on the other hand might never really settle down. He was a ballet dancer who'd been snagged by Louis' sister.

The farther Louis could get away from the wedding the better.

"But, she still looks up to you." Ellis reminded him it was he who employed his sister down at the recording studio.

As usual, he felt everything had to be about Dora. And then when she did ask about him and Ellis..he didn't know what to say.

"How did it happen with you and Graham?" Ellis shot back that day at Dora's question. "Is there anyway of really pinpointing it, exactly?" He talked of encouraging each other, being there for those mundane days.

Ellis really stumped her because maybe it was Dora who was having a hard time, after all. Was she really in love? Was all this talk fleeting?

Louis smiled now. Confident, this year would be at its best. There was Ellis to lean on. And he loved those mundane days with him.
