"Sure, I don't mind having the housewarming for Holly and Dustin at my place," Effy said to Natalie at the library counter.
"You really have some fun dinners." Natalie smiled. She fondly recalled Effy's one pot wonders. "We could have, you know-" Natalie paused. "Maybe, its too soon for a baby shower for Holly."
Effy's eyes shot a surprised look. "Baby?" No one had told her. True, Holly wasn't one to text her much. Still, they had been friends when they were in the dorm.
"Yeah, she and Dustin got married and now they are expecting in October," Natalie told her.
Effy nodded, feeling she was way behind in the times. She wasn't even married to Jamie. Of course, they were in no hurry. He was bogged down in his internship at the hospital. It was a wonder she saw him at all these days. She didn't need to dwell on it. She needed to be happy for Holly.
"So how are things with you and Joon?" She didn't have that many Sunday dinners anymore. Things were a little hectic, even if she did find plenty of time on her own. But she was keeping busy, learning to sew. She was a homebody when she wasn't working at the library. She knew she should visit Natalie more often. After all, Natalie lived in her building.
"Good." Natalie slightly gave off the vibe that things weren't perfect.
"It takes some time, getting used to other people's ways." Effy's smile was open. "Its a work in progress." She told Natalie Jamie was full of surprises.
"Really?" Natalie looked a little shocked.
"Oh, he spends far too much money on his wardrobe. He might be just a wee bit vain." Thanks to his mother, Effy thought. "But, when he's a work, I wear his sweaters around the apartment." She slightly giggled. Somehow, she felt she knew him better to wear his clothes, and she loved the scent of him.
