I find it kind of funny...find it kind of sad
Maybe it was coming full circle. This situation with Kevin. Or at least Ducky thought so when he saw him at the wedding with Meggie.
"Maybe, he's not a snob, after all," Ducky told Sunny after the wedding when it was all quiet at home.
"Ever thought, he might be thinking you are the snob?" Sunny's question came out of the blue while they were in the kitchen trying to make something new with leftovers.
"What?" Ducky winced. That had never occurred to him. "Well, you know, I'm busy. Always at the hospital." Not once had he ever imagined what Kevin might think of him, other than being Xander's husband. Ducky sighed as if he didn't need to ponder this. "I just don't want Kevin to be a burden to Xander." Ducky couldn't quite think of him being family. Xander and Kevin were not related.
"I don't want that either." Sunny agreed. "He's been burden enough. But I don't think Xander would ever admit it."
Ducky nodded and went on to put the leftover mac and cheese with some leftover taco meat.
"It's just, Kevin is the kind who always wants to be entertained or something like it. While Xander is always so giving and never thinks about where his next meal might come from." Ducky shrugged.
Ducky really hoped this would be the end with Kevin and his poor little rich boy problems. Still, Xander talked to him on a daily basis about their nail salon business. Ducky shook his head at the thought, but if there was someone who needed a vacation or sick leave, Xander was the one who would step in and work their hours. Ducky had to wonder if he was even that dedicated in his own career.
