Minnie & Josh

Minnie was beginning to feel like her old self, yet better. Life with Josh was full of happiness in a quiet way. They now were in their own home. It didn't feel like Taylor and Sarah's place anymore. They rarely saw their old friends since life didn't allow that, sometimes.

But she was in college hoping to have her degree soon in preschool. She worked at the daycare in the University. Josh's ex, Tina was back and they shared custody with her daughter. It was usually a weekend or two out of the month. Still, Mini felt it was good that Tina was seeing her daughter even if Tina didn't feel exactly the mother type.

It was still a learning experience for all of them. Perhaps, it felt almost normal now.

And Minnie's Wednesday was walking and practically talking now. Minnie was glad Omaha was around or Wednesday might not have known her father's people. Funny, how the phrase meant more to her now than it did growing up when she would listen to her own grandmother talk about her people. It made her laugh then, but she smiled now, thinking she should have been more proud then, like her grandmother.

Still, in Minnie's heart, she knew these were her people. And she wanted her own daughters to be proud of where they came from, yet helpful and sincere, too.
