Diago hated to break it to Char, but he'd invited Micah over to stay with them. At the moment Micah was surfing on Netflix for Anime with a blank look on his face.
Honestly, Diago didn't know where to start. He knew Micah didn't have a home and he'd probably outstayed his visits with all his friends. After all, he was used to sleeping on the couch, anywhere. Evidently.
Diago handed over a juice glass to Char before she let out another cough. She was in bed, possibly with the flu.
"What is this?" She barely had a voice to ask.
"Just drink it." He ordered.
She did but coughed even harder, wanting to know what was in it.
"Pineapple juice and hot sauce." Before he could finish talking her cough quietened down as she laid back on the thick pillows. He went to massage her tired feet. She'd been working so many long hours these holiday shopping days.
"You need some good shoes." He told her she shouldn't wear those high heels.
"What would you know about good shoes?" She was in a pout.
Diago sighed, but he squeezed at her tired feet and then her ankles. "Micah's going stay with us for awhile."
"What?" She winced as she grabbed a tissue to blow her nose. "I don't want him getting sick."
"I won't let him near you." His smile was sly. "You know how you get when you get this way." He chuckled. "You, always think you're sexy."
"I do not." She squinted harder. "You're the one who does things like that."
"Oh, yeah." He nodded as he got up. "You might be right about that." He smiled at her and kissed her forehead. He was going to make holiday soup.
"What's that?" She looked at him as if he was the worst.
"It's a surprise." He shrugged. All he had was some chicken ramen. Maybe he'd make egg drop soup with some green onion and carrots.
