This Christmas

It was going to be a lonely Christmas. No doubt about it. Simon's heart was heavy, thinking he'd made the wrong decision about letting Ivy move in with him. He couldn't tell his brother Xander about this. He'd never hear the end of it.

After visiting with Xander and his family, along with meeting Sunny's brother Sid, Simon decided what to do.

He went to see Brian and told him he should be with Ivy. He'd find a way for them all to be together.

In the end, he gave up his room and moved into the study. His bed was now a couch. Hopefully, it would get better by New Year's.

Ivy looked at him as if he were an idiot, yet she was happy to see Brian. They made up as soon as Brian arrived.

Simon figured as much. He went down to the apartment lobby so they could have some time alone. He knew his holiday could be worse. There were others who had it so bad.

Then his cell went off. It was his mother, asking if he'd gotten his letter from her.

"Not yet." Actually, he had, he just hadn't opened it. She wished him a Merry Christmas. It was warm in Florida. She asked if he wanted to see his new baby sister. "Maybe, maybe..I'll come in January." But he doubted he would.

After he hung up, he wondered if he was the one who made everything a mess. Why couldn't he get anything right?

Just when he was about to cry his eyes out, that's when awoke when she arrived with her boxes, ready to move in. It almost took Simon's breath. He didn't know her, but he knew he would soon.
