right now it's pretty crazy

He'd told Lily to start writing. She needed to write every day. After all, he always found her imagination inspiring. Maybe if they stayed this way, being together creating art then he didn't have to worry about tomorrow.

Brick found himself staying at Lily's a lot this winter. They binged on anime and even found the Japanese live-action Death Note. They'd even learned a little Chinese, watching Chinese dramas. Yes, Lily had a way of always making him better.

"My parents will probably break up." He told Lily. Maybe that's why he didn't want to go home. Sure he liked his baby sister, but what if Gordy left with her.

"But, but they haven't even been married that long." Lily held on to his hand, not so much as a girlfriend, but his best friend.

He was certain he'd have to move back to his grandmother's. He was hoping it would be different this time, but his mother was in a rut. No one could get her out of it. He missed her, but then again he was used to her sour outlook on life. Honestly, he was afraid he might become her.

So this was his happy place, being with Lily. The cold winter had now set in. She told him she wanted to plant something for her mom's kitchen.

"Like what?"

They watched some videos on YouTube about planting herbs in soda pop cans and other nifty things to recycle. But, they didn't have the potting soil nor the rocks. Lily's mom didn't even have any packets of seeds.

Brick only smiled, thinking of seeds of hope. He knew if they put their mind to it, they'd find some seeds somewhere.
