sleep the light away

Evan was pretty certain they wouldn't get anything settled with the government shutdown. It was as if he and Jools' life was put on hold.  It was a freaking cold January, as well.

"Let's not worry," Evan told Jools. Although, he felt about as restless as Jools about their situation. "Let's go ice skating."

"But you don't know how, and I'm not much better." Jools was certain they might break a leg or something. Jools was for staying in.

"But, I don't want to keep it a secret, that we're together." Evan shrugged. Yes, it had been bad news since Jools told his folks about having a boyfriend. They needed to find a way to keep him here and not go back to parents who didn't want him.

So, Evan made a few more calls. There was someone they could talk to at the University about Jools starting classes. After all, he was a high school graduate. He'd taken all the test he needed to be at a University and his scores were high enough.

Evan assured him these were good things to think ahead of the future. Yes, as restless as Evan once felt about his own life going down the drain because of mental health, he felt certain there was a possibility they would be OK and with the warmth of each other the future looked bright.
