kiss me
It was true. Char could be a married woman by now. Of course, it wouldn't have been Diago's doing.
She'd had a rather long engagement with a fellow named Jared. He'd seen his photos. Their photos. Although, they were rather random now. She'd thrown most all away. Still, on occasion, he'd come across a snapshot, but would hide it away as if the distant thought of him now vanished.
But Jared was so much more of a romantic than Diago was. Jared got her flowers for every event, even the ones that weren't all that significant. Of course, Diago cooked for her, cleaned for her, even brought home groceries. That had to count for something.
Naturally, he'd quit a lot of things because of her, like smoking. Still, he knew there was no way he could touch her past, but to hope to have a better future. Unfortunately, it took a lot of time. Would he ever be exactly who she wanted him to be?
She still looked sad to him. Had that Jared done something to her? She would never say. He was afraid to ask. Perhaps misery liked company much more often than people realized.
Of course, the question remained, "Should we go out? Should we stay in?" He couldn't help but ask aloud about Valentine's day. However, it snowed again. And the winds came and it was below zero. Finally, he decided they'd stay in and he'd make it a night of sweet memories.
