you were always on my mind
As soon as she saw the Art professor, Gabby instantly remembered Will with his pens and notebooks and his little drawings. She couldn't help but smile. She wanted to think those were her best days, but she ruined that too.
He was helping with the art exhibit. Just as an art piece swayed from its easel, Gabby helped him catch it. The moment their fingers touched it was a jolt of happiness. He smiled back.
It was then he told her who he was, but then mentioned she looked very familiar. "You, made me think of my neighbor's girlfriend." He admitted.
Gabby nodded, but it wasn't until a minute or so later she got the connection. "Will, you know Will, don't you."
For the first time, it really clicked. Will was seeing Lux because he..he must have been thinking of her too.
She listened to him talk about where he was from, but Torry didn't mention Bree. It wasn't long until he got her a coffee. It was as if she was in his circle of friends, unknowingly.
"You're a friend of Bree's, aren't you?" He asked.
Gabby's smile was open, but she wasn't sure where to go with this conversation. She thought of Bree now as an enemy. Or maybe she was Bree's enemy. "We went to high school together." She told him she used to date Will.
Torry nodded. Gabby hoped this might be the start of something, but she was wiser now and all the more doubtful.
