life's little problems

Ste didn't know what to do when he heard from Joon how somebody needed vacation at the Campus Coffee Shop. As it was the College World Series was starting. It was a busy time, along with farmer's markets and other pop-up venues.

He also learned that Amira worked at a sandwich shop. Usually, in the evening.

"But I bake too." She told him. It was the first time he'd met another baker. Somebody, who enjoyed the science of it. Of course, he could tell they weren't the same kind of baker. She loved baking bread for hoagie sandwiches. And wanted to know more about making cakes and shortbreads.

Baking was something his family made their living. He wasn't so sure it was something he was actually in love with, but he liked hearing Amira talking about it. They were becoming friends fast.

She would visit his bakery and he would come around in the evening and eat at the sandwich shop. That was where he started asking her what he should do. He'd never worked with staff, but he needed a team. He needed someone he could trust.

"Well, you have Diago and Char," she reminded him.

"I know, but I hate to give up Diago. I like having him at the bakery," he shook his head. Ste admitted he was a bit of a loner and maybe he wasn't a people person, but that didn't seem to bother Diago. And Char was there to help with payroll and advertising.

"I got nothing going on in the morning right now. Maybe there people who only want a temporary job for the summer," Amira suggested.

Ste shook his head. It felt it was already too late. Although, her smile gave him hope that maybe all was not lost this summer.
