Skin to bone
"Look, it's only going to be in the morning for a couple of days," Ameria seemed determined to make Jared work.
"But-" Jared pressed his lips tight, knowing he sounded like a broken record. "But I don't really work there." He shook his head, willing himself not to fuss about it, but he felt he had too.
"Why? Why are you like this?" She was worst than any nagging housewife.
"Because," he closed his eyes as to not know her reaction, there in the kitchen of the sandwich shop. "I...I have enough to do."
Granted, there was a crying baby at home that his brother was always comforting, and a very annoying girl who sulked more than she spoke. He might as well be in the middle of the ocean these days, waiting for help which never arrived.
"Oh, really?" There went Ameria hounding about how he should be in a proper job that really paid well. But know, he never finished up his last semester at the Uni.
Jared let out a sigh. He was getting claustrophobic around her.
"What do you want me to do?" He finally asked.
"Help out Char and Diago."
"Diago?" Jared's bitter wink mad him frown. That was Char's boyfriend. And the thought of seeing Char made him want to run to the nearest exit.
