all in a days work
Who would have thunk it? One part-timer shutting down a sandwich shop.
"We won't let that happen," Diago promised. Still, he wished Char was here to console Amira.
Thankfully, he'd managed to talk to the owner enough to let her know he knew food service and could handle the ovens, the prepping and cleaning up the kitchen.
Why was it so hard to make a living? He felt he was going in circles, watching Amira make circles around him. She looked so sad as if it was Jared had done something awful to her.
"It's gonna be OK." What more could he say? And to think she might have been his girlfriend at one time, but he hadn't let that happened. He was glad she was with Ste now. Maybe he needed to be here to calm her nerves.
He got on his phone to talk to Ste. Hopefully, he wasn't off with his brother Jaxon playing darts somewhere. He just couldn't see Ste that close to his long lost brother. All Daigo knew things would be better if Ste was around.
He smiled. Diago never thought he'd ever feel that way about his boss. There was a time when Diago was petrified of the Englishmen. Of course, he couldn't say they were best friends. Still, maybe they could help each other out. Maybe even invest in the Sandwich shop.
