being thankful

Possibly, Effy hadn't been herself since Jamie left. She knew some of her friends thought she was selfish, not to pick up and go to Seattle with him. After all, she could be a doctor's wife by now.

But she loved her job at the library even if it wasn't a high paying job. Still, it was what she loved.'

It had been a mutual breakup even if he still called and talked as if they hadn't broken up. She never corrected him. Maybe he was just homesick, but she was certain when he was ready he wouldn't call anymore.

And she really hadn't meant to meet anyone. But it was a nice surprise when she met Duffy and of course, Alvie. They were both adorable. Of course, she couldn't say who made the day better. But she enjoyed their company.

After a while, they would meet up for coffee or a pancake supper, even ice cream. Now they were making pies.

"You're so good at this," Duffy told her. Somehow, he always made her smile. And little Alfie was having fun, too. Making his own pie with his own dough.

They talked of the holidays. Maybe they could go to the town tree lighting. There was a school craft show. So many possibilities.

Her smartphone rang. It was Jamie's jingle, some Lady GaGa tune from years ago. Effy's eyes sprang open as if she might be in trouble, but she didn't answer it. Maybe it was time Jamie knew she was busy.

  2. I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet
I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
