everything is OK
"You're really moving?" Torry hadn't expected this from his brother. After all, he felt he was in full throttle of something with Arlo's problem with Gabby as of late. He hardly had time to teach his art classes these days at the University, even if it was his biggest priority.
When had life gotten so difficult? Waiting for Bree to remember him was a lost cause. Perhaps thats why he wanted to be there for Arlo when everything fell apart with Gabby. He hadn't meant to ignore his brothers, even if he'd expected them to go back home by now.
Casey had found a house just down the street to move into with their little brother Chance.
"You need your space," Casey shrugged when in fact Torry was certain it was the other way around.
"But-" Where did he start? "It'll snow soon and..and when..are you ready for something like that?"
"I miss the seasons," Casey told him. "Besides, Chance got a job at the library."
Torry looked at Casey blankly thinking that was just weird. When was the last time Chance ever read a book? Now he was a shelver.
Torry guessed he could get used to having his siblings around.
"But..what about Mom and Dad?" He couldn't even see those two coming to the states for a visit. They had always been on the island.
"Don't you know, they've been waiting forever, for us to leave the house."
Casey laughed softly and smiled as if they were adults now, all on their own. "It'll be fine."
Torry shook his head. It didn't seem possible. His own brothers here for good.
"Will you be doing Thanksgiving then?" Torry asked.
"Of course." Nothing seemed to phase Casey, who was already a homeowner without Torry's help.
