Sometimes, it gets so hard to hide it well

Gabby wasn't sure why she was doing this to herself, thinking she could find some hope with her sister Macy. Her parents were indifferent now after she married Jared. They left her alone. Perhaps even cold, but she hadn't expected it from Macy.

Gabby hoped Macy would be on her side. Instead, Macy brought up the same old story, how Gabby was needy and could she find that need in Jared?

At least, Jared got on at the Newspaper, even if he was just a short cook at the cafeteria. Gabby got her old job back at the recording studio. Neither were in a winter semester. Perhaps not the best of circumstances, but it wasn't bad either.

It didn't seem to matter to her sister who kept bringing up Gabby's past. Had she talked to Jared about any of this?

"No, of course, I haven't." She didn't feel the need too. They were going to make this marriage work and her past was the least of her problems.

"You know, how much mom cares about you," When Macy said this, Gabby sense the pain in her voice. Finally, she could see this in a new light. This wasn't about her at all, it was about Macy.

She still wasn't getting along with their mother. Gabby knew she couldn't help her. Macy was their mother's biological daughter.

"Don't make this about me," Gabby found herself telling Macy that it was best to leave this alone. Seriously, there was only so much either of them could do. "I know mom's been so hard on you. And I know you haven't had it easy." Gabby reminded Macy she was a mom now and a great mom, at that.

"Let's just move on and make the best of it. You are the best, especially when it comes to your kids. I can only hope I can be just as much as like you, when I have kids."

Yet, Gabby knew she didn't want kids anytime soon, but some day she wanted a family too.
