we didn't know there would be days like this
Maddie was going stir crazy. Now that she was the breadwinner and they found a place together, the world would take a turn for the worst.
Oh, she'd listened on the news diligently about what was happening. 2020 evidently hadn't gotten off on a great start, after all.
For Maddie, it meant taking a job she never thought she'd take at the daycare on base, but it did have such great benefits. And she wasn't just a mere caregiver to toddlers. She was now a preschool teacher.
Although, she wanted to get a great job in marketing. That was put on hold. So was leaving the apartment, at the moment.
She didn't know what to do with herself now. Oh, she'd made a good try at reorganizing their clutter while Ollie studied and took notes from his webcam classes.
"Don't be so angry," he said. Naturally, she snapped and said she wasn't. Her hours had been cut in half and even when she was at work it wasn't easy teaching social distancing to ten toddlers.
"Look, they are still paying you full-time." He reminded her if they had a child they could be going to the daycare for free right now.
She gave him a fretful look as if he was her worst child.
But she'd wanted him from the get-go. She was certain she could be the mother he never had. Although, that didn't cross her mind at the moment.
Maddie came closer in her stay at home outfit which was one of his shirts and gray leggings.
Ollie shook his head, no and went to get her a cup of coffee which he disinfected the handle of.
"Remember, six feet away from each other," He reminded her she might have sworn an oath or something to her supervisor. It was all in order to slow down the virus.
Maddie rolled her eyes at the thought. She'd gotten a phone call just yesterday from her old friend she hadn't seen in years. Bea was on a tangent while she was smoking pot about how ridiculous everything was. Naturally, Bea stocked up on pot. She also worked in a hospital and swore there were many more cases of the viruses than people knew.
Maddie nursed her bottom lip now. Yes, she knew it was serious, but she felt she was in prison now and she couldn't even kiss her boyfriend, nor have a cuddle.
