Even birds do it
It was a surprise when Chance got the call from Robby. He'd been texting Rosie most of the night. His phone seldom ever rang and Robby wasn't one to call.
"Are you OK?" All sorts of things were going through Chance's mind, thinking Robby might be at Urgent Care.
"I just needed to..to talk." Robby sounded a little alarmed.
"Are you OK?"
"What do you think?" Robby snapped.
"Is your dad OK?"
"I don't know." Silence. Robby's sigh was more like a heave, "Look, is it a bad thing if I want to have sex with my girlfriend?"
"Well, I can't say it would be all that romantic, with that kind of attitude," Chance got out of bed in his track suit and started to pace. He pushed his dark bangs out of his eyes. "Don't do something you're gonna regret, Bro."
"It's like the Apocolypse, you know," Robby was serious.
"Yeah, well, this might not be the most sexiest times to start-" Chance winced. "Just-just calm down." He knew what Robby was feeling, sort of. Not that he was going to make an ass of himself to Rosie. "You just have to chill." He guessed a cold shower wouldn't help. "And..and you've talked this over with Val?"
"Yes! That's all we've done," Robby sounded as if they'd had a tiff but they weren't finished. He was in his room fretting. She was obviously with a bunch of yarn in bed making granny squares. "How? How do I compete with that?"
Chance couldn't help but almost chuckle, thinking of Val busy crocheting in bed. "Maybe, maybe she has the best idea of all, just keeping busy."
Robby sighed. "It's just... now she knows how many times I've had sex and its not a very good score, evidently." Robby sounded so sad that she knew he wasn't a virgin.
"I'm sure she won't hold it against you," Chance was pretty sure Val was forgiving. Still, he knew he would dread having that kind of conversation with Rosie.
"She's only been with Ollie," Robby told him that wasn't even intercourse.
"Let's don't go into details," Chance gritted. "Look, there is always tomorrow. Just don't push her. If it happens it happens, just be ready if it does."
