Home is where the heart is
Easter came with a hail storm. Effy was glad she and Duffy spent some time with Henry and Josie and their family. Even if it was from a distance. At least the kids did a bit of an Easter Egg Hunt and everyone brought their own drink container and stood around in the spring warmth before the thunderstorms brought hail, sleet and cold.
If Effy let her mind wonder enough she thought she might go crazy, realizing she hadn't accomplished all that much, like starting her own family and yet she was happy to be a part of Duffy's. Although, she was certain it was too early to get married.
"I don't know if there is such a thing," Josie had shrugged at the matter. "You either want to or you don't."
Effy agreed. A part of her felt time was a ticking time bomb. But then Duffy hadn't exactly asked. Although, she'd moved in so randomly, giving up her apartment so easily after the arrival of her ex Jaime who had now gone back to Oregan and was fighting the virus and real hero, perhaps.
A part of Effy felt the terrible sort. A part of her was thankful they had never rushed into anything. But it was different with easy-going Duffy, who loved his job just as much as Jamie only he was working from home now and Henry was helping him with his videos to educate his students as well as adding a few sing-alongs at the library website.
Effy was still on the job at the library even if they were closed to the public. Still, even if they survived, she was certain nothing would ever be the same. As it was, she was learning to sew masks and she'd never sewn in her life.
Just the thought of her wearing one at her wedding made her a little sad.
