When the snow turns to rain

Staying indoors was maddening. This was the worst cabin fever Ivy ever thought possible during the lockdown of the virus. Yet, Jay was always out with Lenny even during the snowstorm.

But she said nothing. There was nothing she could do but to think about this newfound thought that she was with child.

She cried for forgiveness. What would Little Keanu think if he knew? Oh, she could care less about Brian these days, but she still found herself full of sadness worrying about her baby son. Of course, no one would tell her anything. She was in her deep dark prison wishing she knew a way out, but she at least had shelter.

Minnie kept telling her this. She was the only one who knew that Ivy was pregnant. Ivy just hadn't found the right moment to tell Jay. She promised she would.

At least there was Minnie to depend on for food and someone to confide in. Minnie wasn't having it all that easy herself. Her partner Josh was a first responder and he wasn't even living at home these days. If they wanted to stay well, they couldn't be together. She had no idea if he was sick or not. She  prayed he wasn't.

Ivy was glad to have Minnie around. Although, she couldn't listen to her all the time, or Ivy might not sleep at all.

Yes, Minnie knew this Lenny, a halfbreed of some sort. Yet he was a survivor who somehow always came through. But that didn't mean he was absolutely good. Yes, he'd always been aloof and yet so many wanted to follow him.

Ivy vowed she'd get Jay away from this so-called friend of his. Of course, it hadn't happened yet. Jay was always gone. Sometimes, for days.
