Brian didn't know how he was supposed to feel. The fact remained, Bom lied to him.
Just when he'd felt she was the home he'd always wanted. She was stable. She was giving. She was the guiding light he never had and all her soft parts were in the right places. Yes, she was the best thing he'd ever had and now this. Ivy.
"Why? How could you? You lied to me!" He knew his dance around the kitchen was quite pathetic, but seriously, how could she let Keenu see his mother?
"Not exactly," she winced. "This..this isn't about you. Think about your son. Think about how much Keenu has missed his mom." Bom heaved just a little, and Brian heaved with her as if they were a couple after all even if they hadn't exactly seeled anything permanently. They were very careful about the intimacy of their lives. But he felt so cozy in her arms. She was a certain pillow that made sleep so dreamy. And she could cook and..well, he knew it had been all wrong with Ivy. Why did they have to talk about Ivy?
"She is the mother of your child," Bom sounded as if he needed to respect her, but he just couldn't. She...
Brian winced hard at the thought of Ivy on top of Jay as if they made a porn every night while he was at work. She never looked like that when they made love. Brian scowled as if it was too much to remember.
"She's missing," Bom reminded him.
I always felt bad what happened to Brian. I am glad these two found each other when they did. Although, I have always thought Bom was the strongest. Although, I couldn't say if it was Joon's doing. I know she loved him. Possibly, in all the wrong ways. She could have been a stalker..and then for the two to turn out to be step-siblings. Still, I think Bom has helped Brian the most.
ReplyDeleteSo true. I always felt Brian was so naive. It's amazing he ever got this far in life. And to be a dad. I think he wanted to be a better Dad than the one that was unknown to him. Really, they do make a great couple. But I feel it has a lot to do with the hard times they went through.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see how far they have come. And I think Bom has been a great influence with Keanu. Ivy doesn't know how lucky she is. And I guess that makes me wonder what will become of her and Dan even if they do have a kid together. She seems like the type who doesn't really know how to be happy. Although, I think she was at her best with Jay, even when they weren't actually together. I wonder if they will ever get back together.
