it's going around and around again

It wasn't like Simon was waiting for Steve to say, "You're the best!" Because that would never happen. That was so not Steve.

Instead, he looked a little worried. Even though Simon was only driving Steve over to the Chinese place they decided on. It was just the two of them while Steve's friend Alfie went with Melissa.

"What is wrong with you?" Simon looked over at Steve when they made it to the parking lot. Simon hated to pout, but he'd really wanted to be alone with Steve. He didn't want to look too childish or jealous.

"It's just wrong," Steve shook his head. He crossed his arms and looked out the window. "It's too early for him to be dating again."

"We're just going out," Simon shot him a look. Simon knew if he asked Steve on a date, he wouldn't dare. And as luck would have it they'd hung out together for the last week or so. "It's just Hot Pot." He shrugged. Although, he'd never had it and dreaded it. Lord knows, what he was in for. He winced a little wondering why that Melissa suggested it.

Simon thought she was overly made up. Although, he remembered somebody like her and well, maybe that was it. He couldn't stand her now.

"Right," Steve looked back at him as if Simon caught him off guard.

Of course, Simon was thinking they should go shopping for clothes. He thought of Steve in a cool shirt, not his library polo.

"We could play Animal Crossing later," Simon slightly smiled. Steve nodded.

"We're just hanging out," Simon reminded him again as they got out of the car.

"I know, it's not a real date," Steve smiled, but Simon didn't think he was talking about them.
