Poppy wasn't one to introduce herself. Maybe she liked watching people best, and it was nice to see her neighbors out and about.
Of course, she was in her mask at the grocery store, but those two were unmasked and she knew who they were even if she didn't know their names.
At least, it gave her something to smile about. Seeing those two. They were adorable together. It was a budding romance even if they weren't holding hands. But she could see it in the way they moved around each other. It was going to happen..some day.
Lately, she didn't really have that much to smile about. She'd slacked off with her studies and it felt she was hardly needed at the diner anymore. Even though, she helped out early in the morning these days. The oldtimers liked to come in for coffee and breakfast even during a pandemic. Unfortunately, the social distancing had done a whammy on her. Thankfully, she was only at the diner a few hours.
Still, her place was quite a mess and she never had time to really do a deep cleaning. Of course, she didn't think her place was dirty..just a mess. A lot like her life.
Honestly, maybe it was best she didn't get to know the neighbors. The idea of someone coming over frightened her. It was best to stay invisible. In fact, there was a sudden urge to leave her shopping basket as the two young men headed her way.
She didn't know this feeling, but she was certain she might faint. All she could hear was her heart thumping. Poppy could hardly think.
It wasn't until she got to the parking lot and felt the fresh air hit her face when she took off her mask that she finally felt free. Her heartbeat finally calmed as she walked down the plaza.
Finally, she reached the local drugstore. She put on her mask and decided she'd try to shop here. After all, she needed a few things.
Love'n Poppy!
