What's there to talk about

Did Jax really have to keep showing up? Honestly, Ste had enough going on without a half-brother in the mix.

It wasn't that he didn't want to know him. It was the fact that he didn't really need him in his life right now. He was trying to make ends meet as it was financially. Oh, he really didn't know if he could go on much longer, but he went down to the bakery every day and put in a day's work and hoped it was enough. Usually, it wasn't, but he had Amira's sweet face around to get him through the day and to keep him from losing it.

"What does he want from me?" He finally let out in almost a wail.

"He wants to know you," Amira said he had questions about their father. A father that Jax never knew.

"Well, I didn't know him that much, either. He was quite the arse, you know. He was difficult to like, actually," Ste went on to say.

"Then tell him, not me," Amira told him Jax just wanted to spend time with him. "At least give him that."

Ste didn't want to. "Really?" He made a face of disgust. He didn't like discussing his family. It was not all that special. It was hard growing up being a baker's son. He didn't like it at all. In Ste's book, he was certain Jax had it much better than he did. A loving mother, it must have been splendid, or so he thought.

"You gotta be family," Amira told him. Of course, it helped she gave him a hug. Honestly, Amira was all the family he needed. She was the one who got him through the day. She was a friend and always helping him with the shop, hour by hour.

"Um, but, seriously, must I?" He winced thinking Jax was just too smart and complicated to want to know someone as simple as he was.

"He really needs you," Amira hugged him a little bit more.

"All right..all right," Ste would try, but he was certain he would need Amira by his side. "I'll ask him to be my best man." He knew it was about time he married his one true love.

  4. I like Amira. She's good for Ste, the kind of partner he needs in life. She's got a good influence upon him. (By the way, Amira 's quite a common hebrew first name).
