Man, oh, man you're my best friend

Minnie was full of relief and yet she couldn't help but worry just how were they going to get by. She was thankful for so many who were supporting them right now. And there were some government assistants, but she would have never gotten through all the internet searching and paperwork if it hadn't been for Bom.

"You're so good to me," she was in tears once again, on the phone with her best friend. Funny, she never expected they would be this close, but with the pandemic and Josh in the hospital and bills to pay...oh the list went on. She wanted it to be over, but it felt everything needed more money, lately.

"Well, you have a way of making good happen," Bom was serious, but Minnie didn't really believe her. Strangely, she'd been so sad these days. Now Josh was home and she felt she had to treat him like a delicate flower. He was still on bed rest and the oxygen. He needed his oxygen. Every time, he coughed it left her uneasy.

"You both are going to get through this," Bom told her she found some sales on bread. She would bring her some groceries after she got off work. Also, somebody was anxious to see Minnie's daughters. Their kids completed their friendship circle.

"Well then, I'll start a stew and you guys can have dinner with us," Minnie thought it was the least she could do.

"Oh, you know Brian," Bom started that he was pretty much a homebody.

"He knows my Josh, they get along fine," Minnie stated. Those two were just going to be friends.

"But how's Jay?" Bom asked. Certainly, someone Brian (Ivy's ex and now Bom's significant other) didn't want to cross paths with. "Is he really with Ivy, truly?"

"Well, he's not here." Minnie didn't want to breathe a word of him to Josh. Besides, she was certain it was all an act. Jay wouldn't be back.

"Who's not here?" Josh wanted to know as soon as she got off the phone.

"It's nothing." She pressed her lips tight. She winced then but did her best to twist it around, how Jay moved out and now he and Ivy were back at her mother's with a new baby.

"I thought he was in jail?" He looked at her as if she wasn't telling him everything.

"He was, and..and he got COVID too." Minnie swelled a frown as if she needed to stop thinking about Jay. She hugged herself hard, thinking they were never to be friends, never. In her head, she knew no way would she have ever slept with him. He was just being a nuisance.

Josh was full of questions. Honestly, she couldn't even think what he was even wanting to know. All she could get out was that Ivy and Jay had a new baby and Bom found out she was pregnant.

  2. Lots of interesting things going on right now. Will Minnie answer Josh's questions or will he figure it all out himself?

  8. Talk about stress! Money problems, people problems, etc. But Josh's health is the biggie: "Now Josh was home and she felt she had to treat him like a delicate flower. He was still on bed rest and the oxygen. He needed his oxygen. Every time, he coughed it left her uneasy." I'm sure I'd feel just like Minnie if my husband had such a serious case of COVID -- or, let's be honest, any case of COVID. I hope they make it through.
