"Why is this bothering you so much?" Amira didn't know why Poppy was dwelling immensely about her ex. After all, wasn't she with the guy she fangirled day one at the Uni so long ago?
They were out looking for a baby gift for Jory's sister Lynsey who had a baby boy they named Eero.
"I shouldn't have said anything," Poppy sounded as if she didn't want to go to Lynsey's.
"No, if it's bothering you, you needed to talk to someone about it," Amira said she didn't mind. "It's just don't spend too much time on the past or the future will be gone before you know it."
"God, you sound pessimistic," Poppy gave her a festered look.
"Well, I should have kids already," Amira did envy, Lynsey. After all, Lynsey had a baby boy now.
"But you're married and Lynsey isn't." Poppy made it sound as if Amira was in a better place after all.
"Not everyone has to get married," Amira shrugged.
"Yeah, but some of us still want to." Poppy mentioned that seemed to be the only thing on Jory's mind when they dated. "I wonder if he will marry that girl."
"Maybe he hasn't decided," Amira looked over at Poppy who was inspecting handmade stuffed sock creatures. "Maybe you changed his mind."
Poppy puffed a frown.
"I'm just saying," Amira blew a breath. "He's going through changes just as much as you are."
They looked on at the baby things and Amira finally settled on some tee-shirts. Really, she was looking for comfort instead of cool when it came to infant clothing.
"So..so what's it like being married?" Poppy then asked.
"I'm afraid to tell you," Amira then slyly smiled. Poppy looked at her as if she better confess. "Very satisfying," Amira then said but left out the part where she usually burned the bacon in the morning.
Hola! me gusta mucho el capítulo de hoy.Besos
ReplyDeleteToday's chapter is, as always, well written.
ReplyDeleteA good marriage takes lots of work.
ReplyDeleteBurning bacon...no!
ReplyDeleteUy pobre Poppy esas cosas pasan Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteBuenisima historia
ReplyDeletebsss
It's always intriguing and fascinating in the beginning ... then the challenges begin.
ReplyDeleteanything we do will face the problems...how to solve is important
ReplyDeleteAmira is right...not everyone has to be married! And Eero is such a cool name...you give your characters such awesome names, Ellie:) Love it! And poor Poppy...so confused with her feelings...sigh....
ReplyDeletePS Oooooo...I am so intrigues by that crossover apron. I need to find pics! And that's so cool you crochet as well. I've done basic crochet blankets and granny squares here and there...that's about it.
The end is my favorite part because it tells us that Amira and her hubbie have finally figured things out in the bedroom. But just as one problem wraps, another emerges. And now I can't help but think, just what does that burned bacon represent!? Excellent writing and setup as always!
ReplyDeleteBurning the bacon is not that big of a thing. It's good she's happy in her marriage.
