And rainbows have nothing to hide

Simon still hadn't moved in with Declan. Sure they saw each other on weekends. Of course, they didn't go to many places as they'd planned. COVID was still rampant and they did their best to get through the week without meeting too many people. Even if they were vaccinated.

Of course, Declan got Simon on at the radio station. They were in dire need of help. Naturally, this meant delivering coffee and lunch for the most part as an intern. But he got to see what was happening firsthand in the box, so to speak, where Declan was on the air. There was a lot to learn and Simon didn't expect he'd be doing anything too spectacular. Really, he was seeing now that Declan was quite a performer.

"And that doesn't put you off?" Chevy Mendez's first question made Simon laugh.

Chevy was an intern and had a late-night Saturday night show or maybe an early morning Sunday show on indie music at the radio station.

Seriously, the guy cracked Simon up. He didn't even try to be funny. Still, Simon wouldn't mention it to Declan, but he did enjoy Chevy's company who was much more down-to-earth and yet probably a loner.

Simon didn't know him well, but Chevy knew a lot of the ins and outs at the radio station. He knew who were the good and who were the bad and of course, those to stay away from.

"So? What do you mean?" Simon looked at Chevy as if he must have known something about Declan.

"Personally, I find him kind of annoying," Chevy was honest. "What do you like about him?"

Simon wasn't expecting Chevy to ask. He cleared his throat. He practically winced a smile. "Um, he likes me and I like him..and.."

"No need to finish that sentence." Chevy cringed.

"What? You mean you don't have a significant other?"

Now Chevy laughed at him and shook his head, no. "Never. Not ever."

Simon nodded, but he didn't feel sorry for him. Chevy was really likable. And Simon even made time to listen to Chevy's broadcast while Declan snoozed on. Maybe Simon had made a friend at the radio station.

  11. I knew that Simon working at the radio station would spell drama for him and Declan. But I didn't predict that he'd meet a potential new love interest! I was a fan of Chevy as soon as I read this part:

"Really, he was seeing now that Declan was quite a performer.

"And that doesn't put you off?" Chevy Mendez's first question made Simon laugh."

Declan's a performer alright! And I would love to see Simon stick it to him (do people still say that?) instead of the other way around.

It's feeling fally here too. Every year, it surprises me. I always think, oh, there's still a chunk of summery weather -- and that summery feeling -- left. But there isn't. Everything's changed; you can feel it in the air. Even network TV being new again sort of feels like going back to school, if only because it forces me into more of a routine. Still; that's a silver lining. I love my sitcoms. :)

Oh..I do wonder if there are any new sitcoms to fall in love with. I hope so.

    1. Thanks so much! I adore the song. I knew someone at the Uni who could break out at any moment in song, but he always sounded so much like Kermit🌸🌸🌸
