"I guess, I didn't know it was going to be this cold," Chevy was thankful for the warm meal of fajitas and beans.
It was good to have Simon, his brother Xander and his nephew Matty all take a look at the ghost of a house with him.
On one hand, it was untouched. He'd forgotten how Gail was kind of a hoarder. There were still so many clothes. He sighed at the thought of getting the place cleaned up. Honestly, it was all so overwhelming. Of course, his mother back in Seoul kept telling him he couldn't sell the house. But there was so much expense she couldn't even phantom the cost and yet they came from a country that was excellent at evicting people on the spot.
"It has good bones," Xander nodded, as he looked around. Yet, they were gasping in the next moment from the mildew in the kitchen.
"Does it?" Chevy didn't know a thing about houses. He was at an old motel at the moment, that cost two-fifty a week that didn't even include a real kitchen nor a place to wash his clothes.
Xander hugged himself and then admitted this place would be an investment. Chevy knew this all along. He didn't know why he had his hopes up.
"If you sell it like it is, you won't get much," Xander noted the natural hardwood floors, but it needed snug windows and the tiles in the bathroom meant it needed an overhaul. It was the only toilet that worked in the house. The other two were practically goners.
"But the washer and dryer are practically new," Matty said from the basement. "Look at this place, You could have a pool hall down here."
Chevy couldn't help but smile at the teenager's enthusiasm. Still, Simon mentioned how dark the basement was. It needed lots of TLC. "I don't think you want a disco down here." At the moment it was like exploring a cave. The lighting was so bad.
Chevy rubbed his hands, even in a sweater, it was awful cold in this place. Of course, as they were leaving they saw a mouse scurrying away in the hall.
"You can stay with us," Xander nodded. "Don't spend any more money on where you are."
"Yeah, we can help you get this place back in shape." Simon reminded him it was a good neighborhood. Not that far from the university and there were schools nearby. "You could even walk to so many places from here, to eat and to shop." Naturally, he made it sound like a goldmine.
fun looking for ghosts in good company
ReplyDelete:) :) :)
DeleteI don't think I've read much about Chevy in past chapters so it's great to see his story here. Man...I can totally understand when he thought about feeling overwhelmed with the clean up. And love Matty's positivity as always:)
ReplyDeletePS Still watching The Tale of the 9-Tailed and still loving it but am kinda dreading the end coz I have a feeling it will be a tear-jerker. Also currently watching the animé Code Geass coz my boys kept nagging me to start watching it:D And let me know how you like Queen of Mystery 2. Your comment about what happened to the old supporting cast...LOLZ
I like it.
ReplyDeleteA daunting task to fix up that place
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie
ReplyDeleteI would like to comment on this post the same way you commented mine (I loved it) but I have difficulty in English and I am lost in the story you tell!

Hola! un capitulo genial. Besos
ReplyDeleteVery fine post 😊
ReplyDeleteHola!! me gusta como se relacionó. la limpieza, y Xander hay ese muchacho me gusta cada vez más.
ReplyDeleteOld house means lots of works (cleaning, fixing etc). Chevy's task is really dufficult. First get rid of the mouse.
ReplyDeleteGood bones and a hat that says "I'd rather be ghost hunting"? Sounds like the makings of an awesome haunted house to me! But the real takeaway here is that Chevy is moving in with Simon! Instead of, very interestingly, Simon moving in with Declan. Ghosts work in mysterious ways. :)
