Bang bang here we go

"Well, maybe I could find you guys a place," Simon was happy to see Ivy. They went way back. Yes, she was a true friend, or at least he thought so, but she was alone now. Yet only at the drugstore. Maybe she needed a few things before the new cold snap like diapers along with milk and bread.

"We..we'll probably just stay at the complex for a little longer," she touched beauty items she wished she could have, but she felt like a hostage of some kind. It was all sort of sad. She hated for him to see her just in this hoodie and old leggings. But she'd managed to get to the store as if she could do something on her own after all.

"So how are you?" Naturally, Simon couldn't phantom what her days were like. Yes, she was sluggish. She didn't move enough, but then she didn't want to. "How many kids do you have now?"

"They..they don't all live with me," she said rather sadly.

"Oh," a lock of hair hid one eye. She didn't remember him so dapper. Wasn't his hair actually curly? He probably used plenty of hair products that Ivy wouldn't know what to do with. After all, he was a rich kid who could spend money on anything he liked.

Just about then another guy showed up, "This is my husband," he smiled. He introduced Chevy. Suddenly Ivy had a bad taste in her mouth. She suddenly thought he was the crazy one. She came so close to saying, "Oh, I knew this guy when he wasn't gay." But she said nothing as she stared at Simon's significant other. Finally, she had the gall to say it. "When are you guys going to start a family? You know, you aren't really a family until you have a kid or two." Her smile was open. Really, for someone she knew back in high school, she truly hated him with delight.

Dan didn't know what to think or do. Yes, Jay called him. Told him he needed to be taking care of the mother of his child. "You can't do this to her." Of course, Dan was holding baby Angel and went straight to Jory's when he clicked Jay off in mid-sentence, hoping Jory would know what to do. But he wasn't there. Instead, someone else answered the door.

Dan was in shock. It was the last person he ever expected to be his neighbor across the hall. It couldn't be. He hadn't seen Zoey since middle school.

"What are you doing here, Dan?" She laughed. He was the last person she ever expected to see. "I wondered what happened to you."

"I..I live across the hall," he finally managed to say.

"OH MY GAWD!" She woke the baby. Naturally, she wanted to hold him. "He's so beautiful," Zoey said as she took the infant from him. "My crush is a daddy!" She was full of positive energy. For the first time, Angel was happy since Ivy was gone.

  8. Even gay people know that to start a family you need a kid or two, as Ivy said to Simon and Chevy.

  9. Ouch- that last line (in the first part). Some serious mixed feelings there?

"My crush is a daddy" And new neighbors. :)

  10. Oh, Ivy. I really feel for her. It seems like such a small thing, but that part about her not being able to buy makeup or whatever was so sad. And then, when she cattily calls out Simon for not having kids yet, it's so clear that she's in a lot of pain. Hurt people hurting people and all of that. I'm glad that Jay called Dan for backup. Maybe he can help . . . if he's not too preoccupied with his Janice-from-Friends-esque new neighbor. 💄💄💄💄💄
