When the tide turns

Slater really didn't want to go through with it. He wasn't sure who he was trying to please, Jay or Jay's father-in-law. It was something he put off doing during the holidays. And he didn't make the most of that February holiday with the folks, either. But he'd finally got the results.

Yes, somebody was dear old dad, after all.

"What is this going to mean?" Slater was hesitant to even tell anyone.

"But, it'll make him happy," Misty said and Jay too. "Don't you think Lindy wants a brother like you than the one who's sitting in jail."

He guessed she was right. So he called Frank to give him the news. Of course, he was over by the weekend, ready to celebrate and hold his one and only grandchild.

"You need to have more kids," was Frank's answer to everything.

Slater wasn't expecting to hear that. "Now, Jay's got a girl, too." After all, he was Jay's brother-in-law.

"Well, we know, Lindy's not gonna have any," Frank looked to Slater as if he'd have to take care of this.

"You are always expecting something, aren't you?" Slater did his best to make light of it, because somebody came with steaks and expected him to grill them and be in charge of the party.

"I'll get you house," Frank told him. This cracked Slater up.

"Oh, things are fine," he said we'll just hang out more. Slater promised he'd bring the family up to see him so he wouldn't have to drive so far.

"But I want to help you," he told Slater with a grin from ear to ear. After all, he and Jay's mother were moving nearby.

  4. So, Slater's a dad! It's lovely how that connects him to his own dad. And also, that his dad's moving closer. Slater deserves a win. 👶👶👶👶👶
